..a woman clothed with the sun.. - who is she?
The woman clothed with the sun, spoken of in the 12th chapter of the Revelation of St. John the Divine, is a symbol of the Church, the mystical presence of Christ in the world. Certain details indicate this, in particular, the crown of twelve stars - a sign of the fullness of the universal unity of believers. At the same time, since deep antiquity, Christian poets and thinkers have viewed this image as a symbolic representation of the Most Holy Mother of God, the Mother of Christ. Since the time of the apostles, the Blessed Virgin Herself has been considered a symbol of the Church and the Mother of all who are adopted by God in Christ.
