Dear friends!
Reading the Bible can raise many questions, and it is not always easy to find answers on your own. We publish answers to frequently asked questions, so the question you want to ask may already have been answered here.
Does eating meat contribute to spiritual growth? Please indicate the scriptures in the Bible where God blesses everything for food and where Christ Himself ate meat. ![]()
In the Orthodox world, there exists the concept of worshiping an icon or worshiping God through icons (which is more accurate, I cannot say). The question is: is this practice correct, and what exactly does the Bible say about this? ![]()
I have a question about icons: How do people know what God, Jesus, and Mary look like when depicting them on icons? Since what times did people start painting them? Who painted the first icon? ![]()
In Deuteronomy 22:5, it is written that a woman must not wear men's clothing,
and a man must not wear women's clothing, because it is an abomination to God. Is this commandment truly
applicable to the New Testament era and modern life, when so many women wear jeans?
And does this mean that we should avoid fellowship with such women? ![]()
In the Second Book of Maccabees, the necessity to pray for the dead is seemingly justified,
"that they might be delivered from sin". How does this align with Christian soteriology? ![]()
I have a question regarding the beginning of the Gospel of John.
Please explain what theology says about the following issue: if "In the beginning was the Word", that is, if Christ is pre-eternal and without beginning and is God, then how could He be born of Mary who conceived by the Holy Spirit? Does this mean Christ had a beginning in time? How then is He eternal? ![]()
According to the prophecies, the Messiah must be from the lineage of David. The Gospels provide the genealogies of Jesus through Joseph. There is no genealogy of Mary. But Joseph is not the father of Jesus; His father is the Holy Spirit! How then can He be from the lineage of David? Everything falls into place if Joseph is His actual father, but what then of His divine (from the Holy Spirit) origin? One must choose one or the other. Which is to be chosen? ![]()
Please explain the meaning of these words: And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever. (Genesis, chapter 3, verse 22). And why did the Lord say: "the man is become as one of us"? ![]()
