Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 9,  verses 26-31

26 When he came to Jerusalem, he was trying to associate with the disciples;j Lit andbut they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took hold of him and brought him to the apostles and described to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had talked to him, and how at Damascus he had spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus. 28 And he was with them,k Lit going in and going outmoving about freely in Jerusalem, speaking out boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 And he was talking and arguing with thel Jews who adopted the Gr language and much of Gr culture through acculturationHellenistic Jews; but they were attempting to put him to death. 30 But when the brethren learned of it, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus.
31 So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samariam Lit was havingenjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

1 John, Chapter 3,  verses 18-24

18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. 19 We will know by this that we are of the truth, and willi Lit persuadeassure our heart before Him 20 j Or that if our heart condemns us, that God...in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidencek Lit towardbefore God; 22 and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.
23 This is His commandment, that wel Or believe the namebelieve in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as Hem Lit gave us a commandmentcommanded us. 24 The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

John, Chapter 15,  verses 1-8

1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, Hea Lit cleans; used to describe pruningprunes it so that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are alreadyb I.e. pruned like a branchclean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruitc Lit fromof itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and sod Or become My disciplesprove to be My disciples.
