And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

It is gorgeous to receive such a promise and encouragement from God. The people of God, in the Old Testament, quite as in the New Testament can be delighted. Indeed, how gorgeous it is to live: God is near, He will not fail and will not forsake. So, no matter where the others go, but me - I am in sin! Because God is always with me, besides, He goes before me! You may say that I blaspheme? No, I just reduce to an absurdity what we all make every day, when we say to God in prayer: "I want this and that, I am going to do this or that, but You don’t fail me!" Of course, it shouldn’t be like that. God is with me, when I am afraid to fail Him, God goes before me, when I firstly cared to know where He is going, and tried to follow Him.
